Vin Arfuso | 2024 | Palestine, United States of America | 90 min | English | 17+
Walled Off is a documentary directed by Vin Arfuso, an American filmmaker of Palestinian and Italian descent. It is co-produced by American-Palestinian model and musician Anwar Hadid, Kweku Mandela, grandson of the former South African president and anti-apartheid campaigner Nelson Mandela, and Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Waters. Walled Off chronicles Palestinian life under Israeli occupation through a secret museum in an art hotel created by the controversial artist Banksy. It explores the hotel's journey, Palestine, and the historical context to challenge biased media portrayals of the Palestinian struggle for freedom. This film harnesses the power of provocative art, from Banksy’s biting satire and unfiltered critique of socio-political issues to the acts of resistance by the Palestinian people and government. "Art should comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable." - Banksy
